Believe In The Possibilities Of Your Power

Who among us has not followed through with something we REALLY wanted to do because we didn't believe we could do it?

Why wouldn't you believe in yourself? Look how good you are at believing in your friends, your spouse, your kids.....

When it comes to you, it's different, isn't it? Let's say you have taken to pedaling your bike around the neighborhood after dinner, enjoying the outdoors and getting a bit of exercise. A friend tells you about someone completing a cross-country ride on their bicycle. You say, "I would LOVE to do that, but I'd never be able ride that far." Here's what's racing through your mind-

  • what if I fail
  • what if I actually did it
  • big things like that are for other people, not me
  • people would think I'm crazy
  • no one else believes I could do this either

"When you doubt your power, you give power to your doubt."
Honore de Balzac

Now What?

Whether you think so or not, you have accomplished things in your life! Think about the things you've completed that you're proud of. how did you feel when you were in the beginning stages?

You notice by starting to do what you can do at the time, celebrating milestones (no matter how small), and keeping your vision focused on your end result, you gain confidence.  The more you do, the more you can do. You get used to feeling that you can do these things that once seemed out of reach.

You are more POWERFUL than you believed was possible!

How Do I Do This?

  • keep company with people that support you
  • visualize your success
  • make a list of positive characteristics you have
  • trust yourself
  • keep trying, don't give up

Now get on your bike and ride!

That's right! I am now a published author :-)

I am honored to have been included in this wonderful collaboration of inspiring women sharing their stories.

This is a great example of believing in yourself. I thought this was for other people, not me. I was afraid-intimidated, maybe? But I went for it. I trusted myself, I visualized it, and I had great support.

This Is Where I'm At

Wow! Since my last post lots has happened.  I went on a road trip to Washington with my friends/bandmates.  We had a great time, played lots of music, and got to see some really breathtaking sights. The time spent on the road is a perfect time for thinking/soul searching.

I've quit my full time job and am looking for part-time work now.  I've had too many years of working all day every day for someone else and trying to cram everything I want to do plus that pesky housework that doesn't go away into the Saturday/Sunday crunch.

I know that might seem crazy to some people-YOU QUIT YOUR JOB??? Yeah, that's right.  And I'm going to be just fine.  I have plans (lots of them!) for how to get my message out to the world.  I need to start talking to people, playing music for them, showing them how they can do, be, and have what they desire!  I've taken the first steps in that direction.   I am SO excited, I feel like I am unstoppable!! That is perfect, because that is what is propelling me forward on this journey.  I have a ton of ideas and wish I could split myself into many pieces, assigning a "take this idea and run with it" task to each piece of me. Patience is something I need to remind myself of often! As I sit here with a desk full of scraps of paper with notes written on them, notebooks with ideas and lists, and several post-it notes stuck to the computer monitor, I can only smile as I think of how this small pile of chaos on my desk will turn into something that makes me feel happy and fulfilled.  I love it and I can't wait!  (Hmmm...there's that patience thing again!)

What's happening with me this week?  Getting together with some people that I am proud to call my friends!  With my new-found freedom (haha) of being available during the day, I'm able to meet with these awesome folks that I love and appreciate.  Fuel for the fire of getting my projects done, some of which will be featuring these wonderful guys & gals!

What Do You Want?

In my last post, to try and simplify what the Law of Attraction is all about in my understanding, I said:

1. Decide what you want
2. Carry the feeling that you already have what you want
3. Take the actions you feel inspired to take towards getting what you want
4. Let the Universe worry about getting the rest of the pieces to fall into place

I want to go a little further into it at this point and, in order to avoid information overload, will be talking about one step at a time.

Decide what you want.
Don't be shy!  Let your imagination run wild.  Write it down in a journal, giving as much detail as you like to make it easy to put yourself in that scene.  It can involve material goods, relationships, inner peace, goals you have, whatever you want.  Another thing you can do is make a vision board or something similar.  This is done by gathering pictures, and maybe words or phrases, all related to your ideal life-the life of your dreams, and making a kind of collage out of them.  Your then place this where you can see it as a constant reminder of what you have to look forward to.  Seeing this can keep your vibration up (which we'll talk about in the next post).  I made sort of a scrapbook out of mine and kept it on my coffee table.
Not sure what you want?  Make a list of what you don't want and what the opposite of that would be will tell you what you do want.  For example; "I don't want to have to worry about money anymore"  would be something like "I want financial abundance".

You create your reality.  You are meant to be happy.  What would make you happy?  Make your list.
I've written down the top 5 things I desire on an index card that I carry with me, and I look at it often.

What's up with me this week.........

I had a reading done this afternoon, and there was yet more confirmation that I am right in following my intuition.  I've been told several times now in readings I've had done by others and also in readings I've done for myself that I am a teacher.  My intuition has been telling me I am to help people and that my music will play a part in it somehow.  The readings have mentioned teaching, healing, music, speaking, and writing.  I also have known for a while that I'll be moving out of the state, and moving has come up in readings.  I haven't pinpointed a place yet-I just know I'm going-but was told today that it won't be long before I know.
